Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Reece Walby and Camden Mooney Lead Gibsonburg to Victory

Gibsonburg won the last time they faced St. Mary Central Catholic and things went their way on Friday too. The Gibsonburg Golden Bears put the hurt on the St. Mary Central Catholic Panthers with a sharp 61-36 victory. The Golden Bears pushed the score to 48-28 by the end of the third, a deficit the Panthers had little chance of recovering from.

Gibsonburg was led to victory by Camden Mooney and Reece Walby. Mooney went 5 of 11 on his way to 18 points, while Walby almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. That's the most points Mooney has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Wasserman, who posted six points along with seven boards and three steals.

Gibsonburg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive games.
