Basketball Recap: Belleview Takes a Loss

Belleview lost against Vanguard back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Belleview Rattlers were beaten by the Vanguard Knights 70-34. While losing is never fun, the Rattlers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 674th, while the Knights are ranked 158th).

When it comes to explaining why Belleview lost, don't look at Al Johnson. Despite the final result, he posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ches Simmons, who earned nine points.

Belleview has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Vanguard, the win got them back to even at 8-8.

Belleview wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 39-31 loss against Lake Weir on the 16th. Vanguard has also already played their next game, a 61-56 victory against North Marion on the 15th.
