Basketball Recap: Tekonsha Takes a Loss

Tekonsha was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against the Mendon Hornets, falling 63-19. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 65-17 last Monday.

Leading Mendon to victory were Ryder Gorham and Owen Gorham. Ryder went 10 of 18 en route to 25 points and three steals, while Owen dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards. Owen has become a key player for Mendon: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least ten rebounds, but 5-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Carter Huston, who posted six points and nine boards.

Tekonsha's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Mendon, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.

Coming up, Tekonsha won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Camden-Frontier at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mendon, they will head out to challenge Pansophia Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
