Basketball Recap: Taylor Find Success

Taylor posted their closest victory since January 5, 2024 on Saturday. They skirted past the Madeira MUSTANGS/AMAZONS 54-51. Given the Yellowjackets' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while the MUSTANGS/AMAZONS are ranked 414th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the defeat, Madeira had strong showings from Will Manning, who went 7 of 17 en route to 15 points and seven rebounds, and Eli Beck, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Reed, who posted six points along with seven assists and five boards.

The win made it two in a row for Taylor and bumps their season record up to 6-3. As for Madeira, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-4.

Taylor will take on Reading at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Madeira, they will face off against Finneytown at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Madeira is facing Finneytown at the right time seeing as Finneytown is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
