Recap: Westminster Lions vs. Costa Mesa Mustangs
The Westminster Lions pushed their score all the way to 83 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Costa Mesa 89-83. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Westminster in their matchups with Costa Mesa: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, Westminster still got an impressive performance from Matt Tran, who scored 16 points along with 6 assists and 3 steals. The contest was Tran's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Eric Hoang, who scored 17 points along with 6 rebounds.
Westminster's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Costa Mesa, their win bumped their record up to 5-8.
