Softball Game Preview: Desert Christian Eagles vs. Bisbee Pumas

The Desert Christian Eagles will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge the Bisbee Pumas at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Desert Christian will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

Desert Christian not only won on March 5th, but they posted their biggest win since April 15, 2024. They put the hurt on San Miguel with a sharp 18-3 victory. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Alexa Yarger was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, four runs, and two triples. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aimee Lloyd, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Yarger wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Desert Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Bisbee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Desert View.

Bisbee's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Desert Christian, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

Desert Christian suffered a grim 12-3 defeat to Bisbee in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Desert Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
