Given the Grizzlies' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 230th, while the Spartans are ranked 483rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sebastian Mejia and Dominic Resendiz scored both of Godinez Fundamental's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 17 goals.

Godinez Fundamental's win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Laguna Hills, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.
