Baseball Recap: Round Rock Christian Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Vanguard College Prep last Tuesday, Round Rock Christian Academy came back down to earth. The Crusaders fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 5-4 on Friday. The Crusaders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Vikings earlier this season, when they won 13-6.

Jesse Wehba put in work while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has become a key player for Round Rock Christian Academy: the team is 4-2 when he allows at most three hits, but 1-7 otherwise. Wehba was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Wehba wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Timmy Mischenko, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that Mischenko hit this season.

Round Rock Christian Academy dropped their record down to 5-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Vanguard College Prep, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Round Rock Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Hill Country Christian School of Austin on the 31st. As for Vanguard College Prep, they have also already played their next match, an 18-4 win against Concordia on the 1st.
