Baseball Recap: McCallie Comes Up Short

McCallie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 7-4 to the Soddy Daisy Trojans. If the Blue Tornado were looking for revenge after losing 10-2 to the Trojans when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Carter Noland was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Hatcher Caldwell, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

McCallie's loss dropped their record down to 15-12. As for Soddy Daisy, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. McCallie will be taking part in a tournament against Bradley Central at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Blue Tornado's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bears have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season. As for Soddy Daisy, they will take on Wilson Central at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
