Baseball Recap: Worthing Takes a Loss

Worthing was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Furr Brahmans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Brahmans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-8 back in March.

Worthing's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Furr, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Worthing will venture away from home to square off against Mickey Leland College Preparatory Academy for Young Men at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Colts are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Furr, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Yates at 7:00 p.m. on the 25th. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.46 runs per game on average), something the Brahmans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
