Soccer Game Preview: Cesar Chavez vs. Skyline

The Cesar Chavez Champions will head out on the road to face off against the Skyline Coyotes at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Cesar Chavez's offense. They lost 6-0 to Kofa on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Champions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Kings are ranked tenth).

Meanwhile, Skyline was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Desert Ridge, falling 5-0. The matchup was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly the Coyotes struggled afterwards.

Cesar Chavez's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Skyline, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Cesar Chavez beat Skyline by a goal in their previous matchup back in December of 2014, winning 1-0. Does Cesar Chavez have another victory up their sleeve, or will Skyline turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
