Basketball Recap: Eatonville Takes a Loss

Eatonville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 27th straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Franklin Pierce Cardinals and fell 83-24. While losing is never fun, the Cruisers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 367th, while the Cardinals are ranked 118th).

It was another big night for Javon Barbee, who went 6 of 9 from beyond the arc en route to 32 points in addition to seven assists and four steals for Franklin Pierce. The matchup was Barbee's 18th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Hakeen Collins, who went 6 for 13 on his way to 12 points along with seven rebounds and five steals.

Eatonville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Franklin Pierce, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-3.

Eatonville will head out on the road to square off against Fife at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Franklin Pierce, they will welcome Steilacoom at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Franklin Pierce's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 games.
