It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Immanuel had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Bear River Bruins. The victory was familiar territory for the Eagles who have now won three contests in a row.
If you add up the scores from across all five sets (98-96) Immanuel actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 12-25, 25-18, 19-25, 25-21, 15-9.
Immanuel has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 23-21 record this season. As for Bear River, their defeat ended a 27-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 34-5.
Immanuel will challenge Bradshaw Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bradshaw Christian will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Immanuel surely won't give up without a fight. Bear River does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
