Softball Recap: Fairfield Central Has No Trouble Against Richard Winn Academy

After losing to Richard Winn Academy the last time they met, Fairfield Central decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Fairfield Central blew past Richard Winn Academy 15-8 on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Griffins.

Layla McMillan made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over 5.2 innings pitched. McMillan was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-5.

In other batting news, Fairfield Central got a massive performance out of Amyracle Brown, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Remeny Cook, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4.

Fairfield Central's record is now 2-3. As for Richard Winn Academy, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairfield Central will square off against Columbia at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Richard Winn Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Great Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
