Baseball Recap: Belvidere Takes a Loss

After flying high against Woodstock North last Thursday, Belvidere came back down to earth. The Bucs fell 11-7 to the Dixon Dukes & Duchesses on Tuesday. While the Bucs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Dukes & Duchesses 5-1 in the first period.

Aj Vasquez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Gio Urbietta, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Belvidere's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Dixon, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Belvidere will welcome Rochelle at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Dixon, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Genoa-Kingston at 4:30 p.m.
