JSerra Catholic won against Rio Rancho on Saturday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The JSerra Catholic Lions walked away with a 6-1 win over the El Toro Chargers. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Chargers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Liliana Escobar spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Madeline Capek, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Annabel Raftery, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

JSerra Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as El Toro only posted a batting average of .053.

JSerra Catholic's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for El Toro, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

JSerra Catholic will head out to take on El Modena at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for El Toro, they will welcome Santa Margarita at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Santa Margarita's pitching crew has only allowed 1.7 runs per game this season, so El Toro's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
