Softball Recap: Chatfield Chargers vs. Columbine Rebels
On Monday, Chatfield faced Columbine in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Chatfield Chargers blew past the Columbine Rebels 13-3. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by seven runs or more this season.
Isabella Leech made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Leech was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Chatfield let Kylie Bickford and Ava Burgess loose on the outfield. Bickford fired off two home runs while going 3-for-3, while Burgess scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave Bickford a new career-high in home runs.
