Serra Catholic is a perfect 9-0 against Ellis since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Eagles will welcome Ellis at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Serra Catholic has three straight wins, Ellis has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Serra Catholic nor Jeannette made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Eagles never let the Jayhawks get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory.

The result came thanks to Kelly Morrissey's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Alonna Morton was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Keyara Watkins, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Ellis lost 16-1 to Greensburg Central Catholic on Monday.
Ellis saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elyse Brennan, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
Serra Catholic pushed their record up to 7-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Ellis, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
Ellis' hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Serra Catholic has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 11.7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Ellis, though, as they've been averaging only 3.8 strikeouts. Will Serra Catholic keep running through batters, or will Ellis buck the trend?
Serra Catholic took their win against Ellis in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 16-1 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ellis turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
