Mount St. Mary Academy came out on top against Bound Brook on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fourth inning. The Lions narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Crusaders 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lions have posted against the Crusaders since May 11, 2017.

Mount St. Mary Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Bound Brook, they dropped their record down to 2-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Mount St. Mary Academy will venture away from home to challenge J.P. Stevens at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
