Softball Recap: Davenport Wins Going Away Against Canyon Lake

Davenport won the last time they faced Canyon Lake and things went their way on Friday too. The Wolves blew past Canyon Lake 12-2. The result was nothing new for the Wolves, who have now won 12 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Davenport got a great performance from Teagan Massey as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Massey has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, KINLEY Keller was a standout: she scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Ashlynn Kennedy, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Davenport's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-7-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Canyon Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Davenport will face off against Bandera at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolves are facing the BULLDOGS at the right time seeing as the BULLDOGS are stuck on a 17-game losing streak. As for Canyon Lake, they will challenge Fredericksburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Canyon Lake's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Billies have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
