If Gilroy was riding high fresh off their 13-4 takedown of Del Mar on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs fell just short of the Christopher Cougars by a score of 4-3 on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost seven in a row.

Brennan Neander was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double. Gilroy is 3-1 when Neander posts three or more RBI, but 4-13 otherwise.
