Basketball Recap: Bishop Walsh Spartans vs. Mountain Ridge Miners
Bishop Walsh lost against Mountain Ridge back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bishop Walsh Spartans were beaten by the Mountain Ridge Miners 72-20. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-13.
Mountain Ridge's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trenton Diamond, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 15 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Those seven steals gave Diamond a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kris Washington, who went 8 for 11 to rack up 21 points.
