Greenway dropped down to 3-6 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. The contest between the Demons and the Marcos de Niza Padres didn't end well, with the Demons falling 49-34. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Demons of the 21-17 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2020.

Manny Walker threw for 344 yards and five TDs. Kai Becker was his top target, picking up 156 receiving yards. On the ground, Corey Guerrero rushed for 85 yards on only ten carries.

As for Marcos de Niza, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.3 points on average over those games.

Marcos de Niza got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Demetrius Davis out in front who rushed for 101 yards and four touchdowns. Those four rushing touchdowns gave Davis a new career-high. Another signal caller making a difference was Jaeden Lott, who threw for 271 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 75% of his passes.

Greenway has already played their next matchup, a 49-12 victory against Independence on the 30th. As for Marcos de Niza, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 48-14 win against Tempe on the 30th.
