 Harlingen South had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Carroll Tigers on Thursday as the Harlingen South Hawks made off with  a  9-3 victory. Winning may never get old, but Harlingen South sure is getting used to it with their 25th in a row.
 The team  relied heavily on  Jaylin Mata, who  went 2-for-3 with three  RBI and a  double.  Yezenia Perez was another key contributor,  scoring three  runs while going 2-for-4.
 On Carroll's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Clarissa Valdez, who  fired off two  home runs and three  RBI while going 2-for-3.
 Harlingen South pushed their record up to 30-2 with that  win, which was their 17th straight  at home dating back to last season. As for Carroll, their defeat dropped their record down to 27-9-3.
 Harlingen South will have a chance to go back-to-back against Carroll: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 6:30  p.m.  on Friday.
