The Kalamazoo Central Maroon Giants will head out to square off against the Central Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Kalamazoo Central is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 33 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Portage Central on Friday. They were beaten by the Mustangs 42-7. While losing is never fun, the Maroon Giants can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 256th, while the Mustangs are ranked 31st).

Meanwhile, Central made easy work of Gull Lake on Friday and carried off a 44-24 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bearcats in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now won six in a row.

Kalamazoo Central's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3. As for Central, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Everything came up roses for Kalamazoo Central against Central when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 66-14 victory. In that game, the Maroon Giants amassed a halftime lead of 39-14, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
