Sawyer Drury made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
In other batting news, Anja Nelson was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Josie Wiewel, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
Brimfield hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 15 consecutive games.
Annawan-Wethersfield had taken Stark County down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Monday. The Titans came up short against the Rebels, falling 14-2.
Brimfield's win bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Annawan-Wethersfield, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.
Brimfield was able to grind out a solid victory over Annawan-Wethersfield when the teams last played back in April of 2025, winning 5-0. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Titans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
