Basketball Recap: Aldine Snags 11th Win in Last 13 Games

It's playoff time, and Aldine had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 55-43 victory over the Conroe Tigers on Tuesday. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 280th, while the Tigers are ranked 598th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Joshua Green was his usual excellent self, going 7-for-13 on his way to 20 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. Aldine is 15-3 when Green posts 15 or more points, but 9-10 otherwise. Jorge Castro was another key player, putting up eight points along with seven boards and five assists.

Aldine is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 24-13 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points over those games. As for Conroe, their loss dropped their record down to 15-18.

We've got a battle between Mustangs coming up. Aldine is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.9 points per game this season. Conroe does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
