Volleyball Recap: Berkner Comes Up Short

Berkner lost against Heritage back in August of 2018, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Rams came up short against the Coyotes, falling 3-0. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-8, 25-9.

Desiree Powell paced Berkner's offense, picking up three kills. Powell got some help from Katie Volpe and her two assists.

Heritage can attribute much of their success to Skylar Leonard, who had seven aces and three digs. Those seven aces gave Leonard a new career-high. Candace Jones also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Berkner now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Heritage, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-2.

Coming up, Berkner will be taking part in a tournament against Red Oak at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Heritage, they will take on Lone Star in a tournament on Friday.
