Recap: Florence vs. Mendenhall
Mendenhall fell to Florence 19-28 the last time the two teams met; this time around, they exacted some revenge. Mendenhall crushed Florence 62-25. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Mendenhall had established a 50-25 advantage.
No one had a larger role in the success than senior Christian Allen, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 60 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Florence got a solid performance out of junior Ian Vaughn, who picked up 176 yards on the ground and accumulated 159 passing yards; unfortuately, it just wasn't enough for the win. This was the first game for both teams, giving Mendenhall a 1-0 record and starting Florence off at 0-1.
Next week, Mendenhall take on Raymond at MENDENHALL HS at 7:00 PM. As for Florence, they will face of against Crystal Springs.
