Baseball Recap: Shawnee Wolves vs. Coweta Tigers
Shawnee extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 1-6. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Coweta Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-6 on Monday.
As for Coweta, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games.
For Coweta's part, they got a great performance from Brayden Replogle as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over 5.1 innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave Replogle a new career-high.
At the plate, Colton McKaskle was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. Cruz Morton was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
