Soccer Game Preview: Santa Fe vs. Eldorado

Santa Fe hasn't had much luck against Eldorado recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Demons are taking a road trip to challenge the Golden Eagles at 6:30 p.m. Santa Fe is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.7 goals per game this season.

Santa Fe took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 5-1 margin over Manzano. Luis Ruano was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Eldorado faced La Cueva in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Golden Eagles came up short against the Bears, falling 3-0. Having soared to a lofty five goals in the game before, Eldorado's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Santa Fe is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those four matchups. As for Eldorado, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4-1.

Santa Fe couldn't quite get it done against Eldorado when the teams last played back in October of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Demons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
