Recap: United Longhorns vs. Ralston Valley Mustangs
On Friday, United came up short against Ralston Valley and fell 56-44. While losing is never fun, United can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 515th in Texas, while Ralston Valley is ranked 30th in Colorado).
Ralston Valley was led to victory by Jackson Hansen and Caiden Braketa. Hansen scored 14 points along with five assists, while Braketa scored 18 points along with seven assists and five steals. The game was Braketa's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Jayce Bahl was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds.
United's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Ralston Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
United won't have much time to rest: their next game is against ThunderRidge at 3:00 p.m. on December 16th. ThunderRidge is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. As for Ralston Valley, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Rangeview at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th. Hopefully Rangeview focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Saturday.
