Baseball Recap: East Lyme's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

East Lyme entered their tilt with Glastonbury on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Guardians. That's two games straight that the Vikings have won by exactly four runs.

Andrew Sevigney spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Harrison Papuga was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrison Biggs, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: East Lyme kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

East Lyme's record now sits at 12-3. As for Glastonbury, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-12.

Coming up, East Lyme will be playing in front of their home fans against Montville at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Glastonbury, they will square off against East Catholic at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
