Softball Recap: Bear River Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rio Americano, Bear River was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Chavez Titans 4-3.

Ana Marin Hemings spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits. Those hits were her first of the season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Monica Meszaros, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. That run marked the first that she scored this season.

The victory got Bear River back to even at 2-2. As for Chavez, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

Coming up, Bear River will venture away from home to take on Colfax at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give Colfax their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season. As for Chavez, they will be taking part in a tournament against Galt at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Chavez is facing Galt at the right time seeing as Galt is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
