The St. Joseph's Prep Hawks will venture away from home to square off against the Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast Catholic Friars/Pandas at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (St. Joseph's Prep 4, Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast Catholic 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
St. Joseph's Prep barely beat Archbishop Carroll the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hawks were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Patriots on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won three in a row.
Cole Kuhn tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has become a key player for St. Joseph's Prep: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-7 otherwise.

At the plate, Robby Grasso was incredible, going 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Vezza, who went 2-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
St. Joseph's Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Archbishop Carroll only managed two hits.
Meanwhile, Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast Catholic had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. Everything went their way against the Cahillite as they made off with a 7-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Friars/Pandas, who have now won five matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Michael Klawansky spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Joey Graziani, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Jack Redding also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.
Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast Catholic's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for St. Joseph's Prep, their record is now 6-8.
St. Joseph's Prep came up short against Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast Catholic in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 7-2. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
