Baseball Game Preview: Colcord Hornets vs. Chouteau-Mazie Wildcats

Colcord is 0-4 against Chouteau-Mazie since April of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Colcord Hornets are headed away from home for the first time to take on the Chouteau-Mazie Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. Colcord will be strutting in after a win while Chouteau-Mazie will be coming in after a loss.

While Colcord's victory against Bluejacket wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Colcord skirted past Bluejacket 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hornets.

Meanwhile, Chouteau-Mazie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Hulbert, falling 12-4.

Kayden Atkins was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. Lucas Grossman also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Chouteau-Mazie's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Colcord, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Colcord couldn't quite get it done against Chouteau-Mazie in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 10-5. Can Colcord avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
