Basketball Game Preview: Cannon Falls Bombers vs. Stewartville Tigers

Cannon Falls hasn't had much luck against Stewartville recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Cannon Falls Bombers will welcome the Stewartville Tigers at 7:15 p.m.

Cannon Falls is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Minnesota's top teams: Byron, who was ranked ninth at the time (Cannon Falls was ranked 17th). Cannon Falls took a 60-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Byron. The matchup marked the Bombers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Stewartville entered their tilt with Kasson-Mantorville on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They breezed by the Komets to the tune of 83-45. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 22 points or more this season.

Cannon Falls' loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-2. As for Stewartville, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.

Things could have been worse for Cannon Falls, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 78-61 loss to Stewartville in their previous meeting back in January of 2024.
