The Chester Yellowjackets will take on the St. Louis HomeSchool P Patriots at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Chester's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Okawville, sneaking past 2-0. The victory continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their matchups with the Rockets: they've now won eight in a row.

The result came thanks to Evan Dunning's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Chester is 4-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 6-9 otherwise.
At the plate, Ethan Colvis was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Alex Blechle was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for St. Louis HomeSchool P, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past Priory 3-2. The game snapped a strange streak: the last six times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
Samuel Hart spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits.
On the hitting side, St. Louis HomeSchool P saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Schark, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
St. Louis HomeSchool P pushed their record up to 22-16 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Chester, their win bumped their record up to 10-11.
