Football Recap: Howland Takes a Loss

Howland came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were beaten by the Geneva Eagles 56-21. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 430th, while the Eagles are ranked 120th).

Howland dropped their record down to 1-1 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Geneva, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Coming up, Howland will be playing in front of their home fans against Marlington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Geneva, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hawken at 7:00 p.m. on September 12.
