Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for South Fremont

South Fremont entered their tilt with Snake River on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cougars have posted since May 17, 2024.

Cy Hill was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hill was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Hill wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tayson Farley, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Kierce Gold also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

The win got South Fremont back to even at 5-5. As for Snake River, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Fremont will head out to face off against Marsh Valley at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. South Fremont will need to watch out since Marsh Valley has now posted at least ten runs in their last five games. As for Snake River, they will venture away from home to square off against Sugar-Salem at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Snake River's pitchers better be ready for this one: Sugar-Salem has averaged an impressive 10.8 runs per game this season.
