Football Recap: Laurens Comes Up Short on the Road Against Hillcrest + How To Watch

Laurens had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were beaten by the Hillcrest Rams 56-17 on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Raiders in their meetings with the Rams: they've now lost seven in a row.

Although Laurens took the loss, they still got scores from Nehemias Fernandez and Denari Lee-Jackson.

Hillcrest was led to victory by Josh Smith and Jackson Free. Smith gained 208 total yards and a touchdown, while Free threw for 285 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 passes. Smith really tore up the turf during one magnificent 78-yard run. Jaylen Samuel was another key rusher, rushing for 108 yards and one TD on only 11 carries.

Coming up, Laurens will take on Clinton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hillcrest, they will square off against Clover at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
