Basketball Recap: Crystal River Pirates vs. West Port Wolf Pack
Crystal River lost to West Port back in January of 2020, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Crystal River Pirates had just enough and edged the West Port Wolf Pack out 49-47. The victory was some much needed relief for the Pirates as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Crystal River's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jake Yost, who posted 17 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Ej Jenkins, who put up 12 points, to go along with five rebounds and four steals.
Crystal River's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for West Port, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.
Crystal River wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 55-52 win against Hernando on the 6th. West Port has also already played their next match, a 76-50 loss against North Marion on the 6th.
