Soccer Game Preview: Western vs. Haslett

The Western Panthers will head out to square off against the Haslett Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Western and Marshall, and Marshall kept the tradition alive. The Panthers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Redhawks on Tuesday. The loss was Western's first of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Haslett). They blew past Fowlerville 10-2 on Tuesday. Haslett haven't had any issues with Fowlerville recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Having lost for the first time this season, Western fell to 6-1-1. As for Haslett, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1-2.

Western got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 against Haslett by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
