Softball Recap: O'connor Falls Short of Xavier College Prep in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact O'Connor can now relate to. They fell just short of the Xavier College Prep Gators by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Eagles have suffered against the Gators since March 7, 2022.

Rachel Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks.

O'Connor's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 23-12. As for Xavier College Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6-4 record this season.

O'Connor does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Xavier College Prep, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 6-0 win against Queen Creek on the 19th.
