Basketball Recap: Highmore/Harrold Takes a Loss

On Saturday, the Highmore/Harrold Pirates ended up a good deal behind the Kadoka Kougars and lost 56-42.

Kadoka was led to victory by Kole Hermann and Gus Stout. Hermann shot 4-for-7 from beyond the arc and almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine boards, while Stout went 6 for 11 on his way to 18 points. The match was Hermann's sixth in a row with at least 15 points. Jared Nemecek also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Highmore/Harrold dropped their record down to 3-11 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Kadoka, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Highmore/Harrold will challenge Hitchcock-Tulare at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Highmore/Harrold is facing Hitchcock-Tulare at the right time seeing as Hitchcock-Tulare is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Kadoka, they will be playing at home against New Underwood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
