Basketball Recap: Catawba Ridge Has No Trouble Against Chapin

Catawba Ridge's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Spartanburg on Wednesday. The Catawba Ridge Copperheads took down the Chapin Eagles 48-34. That looming 48-34 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Copperheads yet this season.

Mark Caslaru was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. He has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last six times he's played. Miller Shelton was another key player, putting up nine points.

Catawba Ridge's record is now 3-5. As for Chapin, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

When Catawba Ridge and Chapin next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Catawba Ridge will try to stop Fort Mill's five-game winning streak when the meet at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Catawba Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.5 points per game this season. Similarly, Chapin will try to stop James F. Byrnes' eight-game winning streak when the meet on December 27th.
