Basketball Recap: Washington Takes a Loss

Washington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars and fell 75-10. The Pam Pack were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-5.

SouthWest Edgecombe's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kdeidria Collins, who went 9 of 22 on her way to 19 points in addition to eight steals and seven assists. Collins' evening made it nine games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Aaliyah Whitehead, who went 6 for 15 en route to 15 points along with six assists and five steals.

Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for SouthWest Edgecombe, they pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.

Washington will welcome Ayden - Grifton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for SouthWest Edgecombe, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Tarboro at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
