Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pioneer). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 16-14 victory over the McAllen Bulldogs on Tuesday. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Pioneer pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for McAllen, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
