Baseball Recap: Picayune's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Picayune came tearing into Tuesday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Pascagoula Panthers with a sharp 14-2 win. Considering the Maroon Tide have won six games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Kendall Blevins looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Picayune got a massive performance out of Turner Pugh, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was Pugh's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Justin Stockstill, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Picayune always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February of 2024.

Picayune's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Pascagoula, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
