Basketball Recap: Independence Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Independence can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Belmont Cardinals and fell 72-31. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Cardinals are ranked 18th).

Independence's loss dropped their record down to 21-9. As for Belmont, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 26-5.

As of now, neither Independence nor Belmont have any future games scheduled.
